Bike FAQs

Can consumers purchase bicycles online and still get a bike that fits them?

Many bike stores now operate online. They sell bikes at a competitive price. Consumers worry, however, that they may not get a bike that fits them. A competent salesperson can talk a consumer through taking the appropriate body measurements for purchasing a frame that will fit. The buyer should have a tape measure ready when chatting online or on the phone with the sales representative.

What types of bicycles are good for commuting to work in an urban area?

Consumers should consider three types of bikes for urban commuting. All of these bikes have wide tires and comfortable seats to accommodate bumps in the road. A mountain bike is slow on pavement, but absorbs shocks well. A utility bike is extremely comfortable. Finally, a touring bike is both quick and can carry a briefcase on a bike rack.

Is cycling a social sport?

Many people enjoy the solitude of cycling alone. However, bike groups exist in many towns and cities so that people can take trips together and meet new people. In addition, taking a touring bike on a vacation is a great way to meet people while having an adventure.
