Bike Rack
There is more than one definition for a bike rack. A bike
rack can be a stable structure affixed to the ground that bikes are
locked to. Bike racks also are attached to cars and SUVs for transporting
bicycles.
Public transportation systems have started making use of a third type
of bike rack. This bike rack is not sold in stores for consumers. It
is a large fixture attached to the front of a bus that passengers can
place more than one bike on.
With a bike rack attached to a bus more riders have access to public
transportation. For example, in a suburban area with fewer routes people
can bike to a remote bus stop. Then, they can load their bike onto the
bus and take it with them once they get off.
